At age 75 he keeps saying he wants to retire again but doesn't.
His motto is: “Paint what you see” and for him it has to be from the photos he takes because he is basically a studio artist preferring to paint under a stable temperature, no wind and that ever present moving sunlight. He does a lot of painting late at night when all of the ambient noises have quieted down.
Gary set goals and he has accomplished what he set out to do as a youngster even though it took him 55 years to find his way back into the art world, which for him has been very successful and rewarding. His work can be found in many public and private collections both here, in Europe and Australia. This will be the last time you will be able to see a large collection of his work in one location unless it ends up in a museum some day.
