Silk Painting - Three Styles

Time: 1-3pm, upstairs studio
We will explore three different techniques of Silk Painting: Karo Syrup as a resist, Indigo, and Alter Ego. Karo Syrup helps to contain dye in certain areas, Indigo is a traditional way of dyeing scarves and other fiber objects a vibrant blue. We will use clamps, poles, etc. to create patterns on the silk. Alter Ego dyes a scarf two different colors in the same pot! A $36 materials fee is payable to instructor at the first class. All materials will be provided. Wear clothes to paint in.
