Collage Explorations

Supplies:
1 -  Gloss Medium -  I use Golden.  If you subscribe to Jo Anns - use the 50% off coupon per item from the app.    It's rarely on sale and this is how I buy most of my products.  Sign up for their mailers because you sometimes can get a 60% off coupon.  Get at 16 - 32 oz.  This is the most important part of your collage.
(also available at Blicks, Michaels, and Cheap Joes - shop the sales)

1  - Sketchbook - Get a mixed-media sketchbook with 340 gsm (paper weight usually at the lower right-hand corner of a sketchbook cover) - allowing you to work in a wet medium.  Have one already - awesome, bring it!  Can get them at Michaels, Blicks, and at online stores such as Cheap Joes and Amazon.  (again - use coupons and shop sales).
5  - Plastic Tablecloths - Dollar Store all day long!    These are your best friends for protecting surfaces!
1  - Cutting Mat - Dollar Store all day long!    Portable and easy to work on.  I buy in pairs.
1  - Pair of scissors  - Bring a pair that you don't mind getting mucked up.  In other words, don't bring your mother's sewing scissors!  A cheap pair of Fiskars from Jo Anns is just fine!  Again - use coupons.   You probably already have a pair at home!
4  - 8 x 8" Wooden panels - Where your collaging begins.  I ordered off Amazon a set of 6 panels for $16.99 (Yoleshey).  We are practicing here so let's not break the bank and have worry free fun!
1  - 12 x 12x1.5" Wood panels - This is where you want to put your $ at on substrate.  Look at Amazon, Blicks, Cheap Joes, Jerry's Artarama.  This is our final class project so get a quality one.
Acrylic Paints - Have some, bring them!  I'll also bring mine in addition to what LGAL has.  Here's another tip: collect those Jo-Ann Coupons.  I always use the for acrylic paint or mediums.  I do not buy heavy body or high flow  Just a great way to start your acrylic stash.  I find that Golden has the best paint, its archival and light fast.  I'll teach you how to read a label on paint.
1 - Gelli Plate - Micheals, blicks, amazon - shop sales and use coupons.  These last forever with care which we will be covering in class.
1 - Dry Wax Paper Sheets -   Protect your hard work!  Interfolded Dry Wax paper on Amazon.  A 500 sheet box will last a long time and is an easy way to protect collage papers.  You can reuse sheets many times.
1  -  4 oz bottle of Gesso - For mark making and prepping.  If you can find a smaller ounce bottle  - grab it.
