Color Boot Camp/Crash Course
 

• Sketchbook (for drawing and note taking)
• Pencil / eraser
• Paint: As many colors of paint as you can (or choose to) carry!
  • Or – a split primary palette: warm and cool version of yellow, red, and blue, plus white. Questions about this? Email Maggie maggie@maggiecapettini.com
• Surfaces: inexpensive / student quality for experiments and studies
  • Acrylic paper, gessoed board, multimedia paper, primed canvas (stretched or not)
  • Oil paper, gessoed board, primed canvas (stretched or not)
  • Watercolor paper
• What you would usually use to paint!
  • Brushes
  • Palette knife (*oil and acrylic painters, please bring even if you don’t often use)
  • Paper towel
  • Grocery bag for garbage
  • Odorless Mineral Spirits to clean brushes (oil)
    • You do not need any painting medium
  • Rinse water container (acrylic, watercolor)
  • Oil painters: wax paper to lay over your wet oil paintings to transport home (optional)
