This class is an introduction to drawing with an emphasis on the development of visual awareness. Experimentation and exploration of techniques and subject matter will be achieved through the use of various media including pencil, charcoal, ink, and conte. Projects will emphasize development of technical skill. This class works from the principal elements of drawing including the study of line, shape, value and composition. Methods of instruction will include drawing from direct observation and various exercises designed to sharpen individual perception.
