Encaustic’s ability to layer, add texture, optical depth all within a single painting allows us to create deeply nuanced works. Working with papers we create, found materials, photographic transfers- we will create a visual narrative of imagined worlds. This workshop series includes basic encaustic collage, under drawing, and mark-making using various other encaustic-friendly materials. Students will be encouraged to build story across multiple works as the start of a series.
