Intro to the Artist Statement
4 e-lessons
1 30 minute zoom one on one - scheduled individually
1 90 minute group zoom - April 20th, 2021 time to be decided by the group
Class starts April 6th 2021
This e-class will be centered around drafting/revising artist statements and critically looking at your work for thematic consistency. This is a 4 part course (weekly assignments will be included) you will get one on one feedback from the instructor via email and one zoom call on your artist statement and also group feed back on your work vs your artist statement to see if the two are really trying to communicate the same message. The course will be a mix of writing prompts, recorded lecture audio, and email correspondence. By the end of the course students will gain more confidence in speaking and writing about their own work and hopefully gain some more insight into why they are creating the work they are.
First sessions starts April 6th, 2021 with a limit of 12 students per session so everyone gets adequate feedback. Register before April 1st, 2021.
Lessons will be delivered via email each Tuesday, information about assignment due dates will be included in each weekly email.
Students will need access to email and a camera/camera phone to send work images.

"A must class for any serious artist to be able to talk to potential clients and galleries about their body of work. The most insightful and valuable classes I've taken" - Jan R.
