Former policy advisor Aakruti Liva worked for over a decade at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Washington DC. She has been passionate about environmental issues since visiting her family in India as a child and witnessing rampant pollution and poverty. A graduate of the Chicago-Kent College of Law with a Certificate in Environmental and Energy Law, she has experience in environmental policy and law, government service, public speaking, legislative relations, and legal writing. Before moving to LaGrange, Aakruti worked as Chief of Staff to a division director in EPA’s Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxic Substances. Aakruti currently serves on the Environmental Quality Commission for the Village of LaGrange and on the board of Go Green LaGrange.
“Even with all of Earth's natural disasters and mass extinctions, it has not only survived, but has continued to create unimaginable beauty that inspires us.” Using landscape photography, Aakruti aims to capture a glimpse of this beauty and share her passion for protecting the environment. She is a self-taught photographer who continues to flourish on her professional and artistic journey. |
