LaGrange Art League Gallery
The La Grange Art League is home to a beautiful gallery space at the front of our building, showcasing the work of talented local artists. Each artist has been juried in by our professional team, ensuring a diverse collection of high-quality artwork.
Our gallery features a wide variety of mediums, including watercolor, pastel, acrylic, oil painting, collage, jewelry, pottery, encaustic, woodworking, and fiber arts. With new pieces added regularly, there is always something fresh and inspiring to discover.
We are always excited to welcome new artists into our growing creative community.

Basic Exhibit Guidelines
1. The artist is a current Exhibiting Artist Member of the LGAL.
2. The art is original. [NOTE: The art submitted is from the artist’s own idea
or inspiration or executed from an artist’s own photograph. The art must
not be copied from any other artist or published work. No copyright
infringement shall be evident.]
3. The art is for sale. The artist acknowledges that the LGAL will retain a 35% commission if the artwork is sold during the exhibit period.
4. The art submitted has never been exhibited at the LGAL before.
5. The art is framed appropriately. [See section covering framing requirements)
6. The art has not been worked on directly by an instructor. [NOTE: If an
LGAL instructor provided hands-on assistance or a reference photograph,
the art can be exhibited only in our Annual Student Show in May.]
7. The art is not overly controversial or offensive to the general public.
[NOTE: While the LGAL welcomes a wide range of artistic expression, we
reserve the right to decline artwork that may be considered unsuitable for
our gallery environment.]
8. The artist is required to sign an agreement that the submitted art
complies with these requirements.
Sales & Commission
- All art on exhibition must be for sale.
- There will be 35% commission taken for each sale.
- Artist payments issued within 30 by Zelle.
Eligibility & Framing Requirements
- Artwork must be original, [NOTE: The art submitted is from the artist’s own idea or inspiration or executed from an artist’s own photograph. The art must not be copied from any other artist or published work. No copyright infringement shall be evident.]
- Maximum size: 48" (height or width)
- Maximum weight: 40 lbs
- Works on paper: framed under glass with clean, dust-free mats
- All artwork must be wired for hanging using two D-rings placed one-third from the top
- Wire must be taut and not visible above the frame
- Bumpers required on bottom corners
- Unframed canvases: must have finished edges (approx. 1.5") and follow identical wiring standards
- Saw tooth hangers, screw eyes, wrapping twine, ribbon or excessive wire are not allowed. Frames and mats are to be free of scratches, stains, chips. Improperly framed or damaged work will not be accepted.

Art Pick Up and Drop off Requirements
Artwork must be dropped off and picked up during the designated weekend of the last Friday of each month. Please refer to the La Grange Art League 2026 Exhibit Calendar below for the exact drop-off and pick-up dates for each exhibition.
It is the artist’s responsibility to pick up their artwork at the end of each exhibition. Artwork must be collected during the scheduled pick-up period unless arrangements have been made with LGAL.
Any artwork that is not picked up within 30 business days of the regularly scheduled pick-up date will become the property of the La Grange Art League (LGAL).
Please plan accordingly and make arrangements for your artwork to be collected on time.
